Remodelaholic in Review: October 2016
There is joy to be found in every time and season throughout the year, so it’s hard to say that fall is my favorite. But fall is definitely a special time of year. It introduces many major holidays, favorite holidays for a lot of people. Halloween, shortly after that Thanksgiving, and before we know it Christmas! It is definitely a busy time of year, and we are feeling that, but it is always a wonderful time of year where people think more of what they are grateful for and focus more on giving and helping others. We have had a wonderful fall season, full of fun as we celebrated the leaves changing color and Halloween, and the joy continues as we now move towards Thanksgiving. We hope that you have had a wonderful month since our last review, and we hope that you are soaking in every good moment!
Since we know that life gets busy, and stays busy, decorating isn’t always something that we can devote a lot of time to. That’s when help comes in handy. The help of free printables that is, like this Free Set of 10 Hand Painted Watercolor Holiday Printables! Just find a frame, print these gorgeous pieces of art, and you are set for a year of changing seasons and holidays! It’s the easiest way to make your home festive and they’ll put a smile on your face every time!
I am smittin with this gorgeous Pieced Wood Headboard Tutorial that Cassity and Justin created. If you are too, you’ll need to check out their tutorial so that you can create your own! I love the colors they chose, but think of all the possibilities! Please, if you create one for yourself, share it with us! This has easily become a favorite of mine!
Cassity went to Atlanta to tour one of her favorite flooring companies, Shaw Floors, and gave us the rundown of her visit. It sounds like it was an amazing visit, and so fun to read about. Check out her experience at Shaw Floors Style Board at Barnsley Gardens and live vicariously through her for a little bit!
Halloween is one of our favorite holidays to decorate for and celebrate! This year Cassity shared so many wonderful Halloween posts. Her top 25 ideas in a variety of areas! She had you covered in everything you would need: 25 Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas, 25+ Spooktacular DIY Halloween Garlands, 25 Cute Halloween Mantels, 25 Halloween Home Decor Ideas and 25 Cute Halloween Wreaths. Last month we were able to feature a great post on ways to brighten your home! Denise Durrett from ENERGY STAR shared tips and resources on the benefits of energy efficient lighting! So whether you are in the middle of a remodel, considering changing out some old lights, or just want to learn about the benefits, check out her post on Finding the Right Light and Help Your Community with ENERGY STAR.
Our next guest blogger is a talented DIY’er who shares the before and after’s of her beautiful Tennessee home. Jen from Noting Grace, is making her home look great, with less dough then you think. Check out her tutorial and recent project How to Make a Pallet Wood Light Box. It’s a farmhouse must-have!
Like most great DIY projects start, Chantel from Over-Inspired brainstorms ways that she can do home projects herself for less than what it would cost to purchase retail. A lawyer turned DIY addict, and a talented one at that, Chantel knew what she wanted in her first home before she purchased it. A sliding barn door was one of those things. She had to find a place to put one and then carried out the design and building as you will see in her post Cheap & Easy DIY Barn Door. It turned out perfect!
We have so much fun stuff planned for Christmas so be watching the site for the fun, festive posts to go live! If you have a blog or Instagram, you can link up at the party, and if not, share your pictures on Facebook (you can message us, and we’ll add it to our Fan Features album).
