Christmas Cookie Decorating Party!

I know for those of you who like to do things last minute this might be a little bit early, but for the planners, it will be right on time.  Don’t ask me if I already have my Christmas tree up because I will have to plead the fifth… Because before you know it Christmas will be upon us!

Our family, especially my girls LOVE to decorate Christmas cookies, okay any cookies, Halloween, fall, Easter, summer… whatever excuse works!  Thank you to YouTube for teaching my girls the art of the decorated cookie!

I REALLY like to keep my Christmas decorations to a minimum.  I can only stand the extra stuff for about 24.5 days and literally on Christmas day my gift to myself is taking down the tree.  Hallelujah!  So for a party with friends, I want to keep things as simple as possible.

For this fun project I’ve partnered with Better Homes and Gardens for Walmart to create this easy holiday look to help you get ready with ideas for what you can do for your holiday guests! A few of the items I found are available online, click on the image to take you to the product link, these links may contain affiliates.

For the console table I kept the look really simple.  I have some cute cups for hot chocolate that guest can take with them.  I filled a few cute white lanterns with Christmas bulbs that I had already.  A little bowl of candy and a couple rustic Christmas Snowflake decorations.

To add a little extra height to one of the lanterns I used a white cereal bowl, easy and it matches well.

For the table I used some wrapping paper as a table runner.  I had bought this cute rustic table runner but considering my 5 and 7 year old daughters, I decided I didn’t want to ruin the runner, and would save it for another day!

I bought some pretty flowers, but with the orange and pink that already existed in my kitchen furniture I didn’t want to add green.  Instead I put a couple touches on a pre-made gingerbread house and thought that made a rather cute centerpiece n top of this amazing marble topped cake stand.

I am excited about the new little plaid ramekins, they can only be picked up at a local Walmart store (I couldn’t find them online).  They are part of the Better Homes and Garden’s line for Walmart.  But seriously they will be great for almost anything, little chicken pot pies, a small soup cup, individually baked desserts,  or decorating gingerbread houses filled with candy (or cookies!!)!!

The wood slices are made to be chargers for plates, I decided to use them as platters.   For the ramekins filled with sprinkles and the cookies (the cookies are sitting on wax paper to make sure they are food safe)  To vary the heights of the little platters, I again used a white cereal bowl.

I also picked up this cute snowflake salad plate at Walmart, I think you can only find it in the store, but there is a coordinating appetizer plate online.

So that is easy!  Just make the cookies and frosting and you are set for the cookie decorating party of your dreams!
