Friday Favorites: DIY Solar Lamps and Joanna Gaines
Favorite retro room (above): This retro styled kitchen with the light blue/turquoise cabinets and red fixtures was one of my favorites from the home show! Who cares that it’s a second kitchen, I’ll take it as my first and only! See more over on Instagram here. And I’ve got more Parade of Homes pictures here if you feel like gawking a bit!
Favorite ceiling: This gorgeous rustic vaulted ceiling, over at Thistlewood Farms….
or maybe this one? And yeah, they are in the same house. You’re gonna want to check out the tour for sure.
Favorite getting-ready-for-summer project (shared here): Inexpensive solar light + lamp base = totally brilliant outdoor lighting. Get all the details from Redo It Yourself Inspirations.
Favorite mudroom storage: This built-in cubby organizer by TDA Decorating and Design has been popular over on Pinterest, and really, every home should have one of these in that space by the garage door. Builders, take note.
Favorite shelves: I’m a big fan of full tiled walls with open wood shelves. Aren’t these gorgeous?

Favorite mug: This mug we saw on Facebook and found on Amazon cracks me up! “Now say I’m pretty.”
Favorite Joanna Gaines: We love Fixer Upper, and when we shared this little meme over on Facebook, we learned how many of you do, too! I’m still a few (okay, a LOT) of seasons behind, but the love is the same.
Favorite herb garden: I’ve seen several variations on the rain gutter planter, but this one takes the cake — the shiny metal gutter on the chalkboard wall is just perfect!
What are you loving this week?
Lorene has been behind the scenes here at Remodelaholic for more than a decade! She believes that planning projects and actually completing them are two different hobbies, but that doesn't stop her from planning at least a dozen projects at any given time. She spends her free time creating memories with her husband and 5 kids, traveling as far as she can afford, and partaking of books in any form available.
Thank you so much for sharing, Cass!
You made my weekend!!! 😀
Thank YOU for being brilliant, Robin! 🙂
